Everything you need to know about planning a New Zealand journey with Kiwi Grand Tours.

About Kiwi Grand Tours

A Destination Management Company (DMC) is a local expert that plans, books, and operates all ground arrangements for travellers visiting a destination. Kiwi Grand Tours handles everything on the ground in New Zealand -- private transfers, accommodation, activities, guides, restaurants, and logistics -- so that travel agents, wholesalers, corporate clients, and individual travellers have a single, expert point of contact.

Yes. Kiwi Grand Tours Ltd is a licensed inbound tourism operator in New Zealand (NZBN: 942 905 284 5543). We operate in accordance with New Zealand tourism industry standards and are pursuing Qualmark accreditation -- New Zealand's official quality assurance mark owned by Tourism New Zealand.

Absolutely. Trade partnerships are central to our business. We work with travel agents, inbound wholesalers, and MICE planners globally, providing confidential net rates, white-label ground operations, and dedicated trade support. Visit our Trade Partners page or email info@kiwigrandtours.co.nz to request our rate card.

We operate across all of New Zealand -- both North and South Islands. Our core destinations include Auckland, Bay of Islands, Rotorua, Taupo, Wellington, Marlborough, Christchurch, Aoraki/Mt Cook, Queenstown, Wanaka, Fiordland, and the West Coast. If your clients want to go somewhere in New Zealand, we can make it happen.

Booking & Planning

Simply use the enquiry form on our contact page or click "Enquire Now" on any tour or itinerary. Tell us your travel dates, group size, interests, and any special requirements. We respond to every enquiry within 24 hours -- usually much sooner during business hours (Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:30pm NZT).

For FIT (individual and small group) bookings, we recommend 4-8 weeks ahead for most experiences. For peak season (December-February and school holidays), aim for 3-6 months ahead. For MICE and large group programmes, 6-12 months is ideal to secure exclusive venues and preferred accommodation.

Yes -- this is what we do best. Our published itineraries are starting points, not fixed products. We can adjust any programme based on your clients' interests, pace, budget, and special occasions. Everything we create is private and bespoke to the group.

We specialise in private experiences -- your own vehicle, guide, and schedule. We also operate exclusive small-group day tours and can handle large MICE groups up to 500 delegates. We do not place individual travellers into open shared group departures.

Each tour clearly states its inclusions. Typically our day tours include private transport, a professional guide, and specified activities and meals. Multi-night programmes include accommodation (luxury lodges and boutique hotels), private guided transport, all listed activities, and most meals. International flights, travel insurance, and personal expenses are not included unless specified.

Payment & Cancellation

A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm all bookings. The balance is due 60 days before the first service date. For bookings made within 60 days of travel, full payment is due at confirmation.

Cancellations made more than 60 days before travel forfeit the 25% deposit. From 30-60 days, 50% of the total is charged. From 14-29 days, 75%. Less than 14 days or no-show, 100%. Some supplier components (helicopters, overnight vessels) may carry stricter terms. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions.

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, medical, and evacuation for all clients. New Zealand's ACC provides limited cover for accidents but does not cover illness or overseas medical repatriation. We can recommend travel insurance providers if needed.

All prices are quoted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). We accept payment by bank transfer (preferred for trade partners) and major credit cards. Currency conversion is at the client's risk.

On Tour

All our guides are professionally trained, English-speaking New Zealanders with deep knowledge of their regions. They hold first aid certification and are experienced in hosting international luxury clients. For specific language guides (Mandarin, Japanese, German, etc.), please request at the time of booking.

We use modern, air-conditioned vehicles appropriate to group size -- from luxury sedans and SUVs for couples, to Mercedes-Benz and Toyota Granace vans for small groups, to full-size coaches for larger groups. All vehicles are maintained to the highest standards.

New Zealand weather can be dynamic, especially in Fiordland, the West Coast, and alpine areas. Our guides carry contingency plans for all weather-dependent activities. Where an activity cannot safely proceed, we will offer the best available alternative or, in some cases, a credit. We recommend travel insurance for weather-related disruptions.

Yes. Please advise all dietary requirements at the time of booking -- vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal, kosher, allergies, and other needs. We communicate these to all suppliers in advance. For rare or very specific requirements, we will advise on the best available options.
