About this tour
Waiheke Island — just 35 minutes from Auckland's Britomart ferry terminal — is New Zealand's wine island. A warm microclimate produces some of the country's finest Bordeaux-style reds, rosé, and Italian varietals at boutique wineries that welcome private visits with a warmth no larger operation can match.
This private tour includes a scenic ferry crossing, private vehicle and guide on the island, and visits to two or three hand-selected wineries for hosted tastings. We also visit an olive estate — Waiheke produces award-winning extra-virgin olive oils — and stop at a lookout point that reveals the full sweep of the Hauraki Gulf and the distant profiles of Great Barrier and Coromandel.
The island also has galleries, artisan food producers, and beaches — including the celebrated Onetangi and Palm Beach — and we build the day around your priorities as much as the wine.

We select the wineries based on our relationships and your preferences — if you have heard of a specific winery, let us know and we will do our best to include it.
Ferry services rarely cancel but can be affected by high seas. In severe weather, we can offer an alternative Auckland day programme or reschedule.
